Every dataset on this page is free for articles, videos, research, and websites, provided each use includes a visible credit link to metalcharts.org (for video, a link in the description). That link is the only cost of the data.
You may not resell these files or republish them as a standalone dataset or mirror. Free downloads are annual or weekly aggregates; daily-resolution history and real-time access are reserved for the paid MetalCharts API, see pricing.
For journalists: if a story needs a chart or a data pull these files do not cover, we build custom charts and extracts on request, free with the same credit link. Reach us through the contact page and mention your deadline. The data coverage index lists every series we track and how far back each one goes.

Free Metals Data: FAQ
Is MetalCharts price data free to download?
Yes. Every CSV on this page is free to download and free to use in articles, videos, research papers, and websites, as long as you include a visible credit link to metalcharts.org (for video, a link in the description). Reselling the files or republishing them as a standalone dataset is not permitted.
How do I cite MetalCharts data?
Each dataset block includes copy-paste citations in HTML, plain text, and APA format. The short version: link to metalcharts.org wherever the numbers appear. That credit link is the only cost of the data.
How often are the datasets updated?
The annual gold, silver, and ratio files change once a year, when the full-year LBMA averages are published. The weekly Shanghai premium and COMEX inventory files regenerate daily as new reports arrive, with the newest ISO week filling in as its trading days complete.
Can I get daily or real-time metals data?
The free downloads are annual or weekly aggregates by design. Daily-resolution history and real-time programmatic access are reserved for the paid MetalCharts API; see the pricing page for plans. Journalists can also request custom charts or one-off data pulls through our contact page.
